  Bonham is 50 miles from me. Go through there, once a month to go to Sams Club. My neice, nephew, and their 3 sons live there. If they can get any info, (they have never been JW's) I am sure I could ask them.

  are they as good as they make out, any drawbacks to having one?.

  i'm thinking of getting my crown replaced with one but wonder if the 3000 ($6000) is worth it.. .

  AudeSapere, what do you do? You sound like me, when it comes to dentistry!!

  Go for the implant. I'm a hygienist, and I would definitely go for it. But... please take care of it, exactly how they tell you to. Think of it as a beautiful diamond ring. Keep it clean accordingly. shiny and gleaming.

  i'm new to the board, just signed up today.. i grew up going to garland, mesquite and white rock/lake highlands congregations.

  stopped associating with the jw's in the early 90's.

  What's the Deal with Bethel?

  i'm not a jw, never have been.. my friend described bethel as a place where one can be trained up in a trade and help with the printing of wts literature.

  he described it as a self sufficient home where many witnesses aspire to go because you're only arpund other followers and it doses you up good on spirituality.

  but then i read about it online and apparently there's bells ringing and quick meals and it's really hard work and it sounded somewhat like an institution?!?!

  Kinda slow tonight it seems. Looks like a bunch of exJW's have gotten a life on a Saturday night. There are several ex-Bethelites on this forum. They will tell you the facts. Most are from the US, if I am not mistaken.

  But,,, in the end, it is a corporation. $$ is the bottom line. I can see cracking the whip. Why not? They monitor your computer, and search your room.

  My sister was 15, when the server at Luby's cafeteria slid her steaming mashed potatoes and gravy at her, and missed the tray, and it splashed all over her. She still has scars on her legs, arm and hand. A little different than McDonalds, but still, food shouldn't be that hot. My parents didn't sue, but Luby's paid all medical bills, and she bought a new car when she turned 16.

  A pube in my food? and it not being the first time? TV, media. I can't see it being a lawsuit if it caused psychological problems, the company can't be responsible for the personal problems of it's customers.

  The poor soul that died. We could each give 10 reasons why someone would do this. I put my money on unbelieving mate, wife leaves because the elders told her to, and take the kids. A little theocratic warfare!!

  Even at my age they still have an effect on me. I HATE that. I wish I could be done with it completely. That religion has made me feel like a social misfit. I never learned to date. I trusted too much. All the things we're supposed to learn and do as teens never happened. I would say I still have a lot of resentment. I want to let that go. Being on here is a great help.

  Welcome again Mandette!! My 16 year old daughter (only child) has never been to a kingdom hall, but she knows alot of the lingo. She watches 2 JW kids at school, younger than her, and sees that they are misfits. She knows it just isn't right, and feels bad that I was brought us that way. LOL She is very grateful that she hasn't been subjected to it.

  I still have the thoughts and feelings as you do though. Like when I buy a Christmas ornament, or when I see or hear something, I think "Oh no" that isn't right!

  I napped for an hour and half this afternoon, and I was up cleaning and organizing again. My husband can't understand how I am still going. (I am wondering myself)

  Right now I am going 64 hours with 7.5 hours sleep. My house smells great!! And I am finding all sorts of things that need to be done. I now find the need to re-caulk some places on my kitchen counter. Sending child to WalMart tomorrow to buy some. Steriods are great, but with all of my hard physical labor, I can feel the weight creeping on already!

  lost 10 pounds in 3 days last weekend, in dehydration.

  Satanus, you are TOO COOL! That is totally interesting. Makes sense also. Makes me a little queasy also though.

  But not much difference in the maggots and wound care.

  Reminds me of a couple of years ago, there was a pediatrician, who had a child, and it showed the baby crawling on the floor, at the mall. Then putting her hands in her mouth. AACCCCKKKK But the father said she had never been sick, and kids today are too clean. Mother Nature is strange.

  I am going to look for more on this. Google here I come.

  Crohn's and UC are so very close to each other. My Doctor called and made me an appointment for this week. He said there were some new meds out. I was searching the Crohns and Colitis Foundation website, and saw some drugs I had never seen before.

  They say that cures for alot of these diseases are so very close. Money. Scientists just need more money. It is just the way it is. They can't work for free. Gives you a new look on giving and charity. Especially if it is personal, like breast cancer, diabetes, or this.

  Your sister has had it rough. I can't imagine being so young and dealing with all of this. It has taken a huge toll on her body. Wicked disease.

  Well, I am awake again. 3 hours sleep again. I am not one to jump out of bed for any reason, but these things have me wired!! I know my body needs to rest, but my mind keeps telling me to go.

  Is this what it feels like to be on crack? Go go go? Don't remember it being like this. Probably age.

  If this is what the athletes take, I can understand. I think I could move a mountain today. My body needs rest though.

  Satanus, Intestinal parasites?? Well, they say that the old fashion maggots and wounds are great for healing. Well, do you think I need a prescription for them? Do you think that my local WalMart Pharmacy has them in stock? Damn, sure hope they are encapsulated in something before I swallow!
